the winter solstice, the longest night and shortest day, is a turning point – a time to pause, reflect, and embrace the quiet gifts of winter. traditionally celebrated as a time of rest, reflection, and renewal, the solstice invites us to honour the cycle of darkness and light, welcoming the gradual return of the sun’s warmth and energy.
our winter solstice event begins with an introspective journey into slow flow yoga, guiding you to connect with your body as we prepare to move gently through the season’s darkest night. we will then ease into a nourishing combination of yin and restorative yoga, each posture offering you the opportunity to settle deeper into stillness. afterward, we’ll transition into a long and dreamy yoga nidra, supported by meditation and shavasana, inviting you into a state of restful awareness.
following our movement practice, we will pause to enjoy warm drinks and festive cakes together, cultivating warmth and connection.
we will then gather for a guided visualisation and intention-setting ritual, harnessing the energy of new beginnings as we welcome the return of light. the evening will close with a powerful sound bath, as the harmonising tones of the gong and crystal bowls wash over us, helping to integrate and ground our intentions for the season ahead.
