Performance Through Presence -

Corporate Wellbeing in and around Worcester

A calmer nervous system.

Better decisions.

Stronger teams.

I did the 30min breathing workshop and I would highly recommend it to everyone. We walked away with a sense of calm and equipped with techniques that can be used in everyday life. Invaluable if you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed. So look out for those emails and go to those events if you can, you won’t regret it.

I talk to business owners and HR leaders in Worcester all the time. A lot of them are knackered. Their teams are bright, capable, and running on fumes. That is not just a people problem. It is a business problem.

Performance Through Presence is about helping people stay steady under pressure. Not with fluffy perks. Not with corporate wallpaper. With practical tools that support focus, resilience, and better performance.

The General Corporate Situation

£51Bn Cost

Poor mental health costs UK employers an estimated £51 billion per year. That is not background noise. That is a boardroom issue.

Do you even know what it costs you?

Talent drain

When people stay overloaded for too long, they disengage or leave. Presence matters because retention matters. Good people do not stick around forever if their nervous system is constantly on edge.

Who have you lost recently that you didn’t want to?

400% ROI

Evidence-based mental health support can return about 4:1 on investment.

Lower absence. Less burnout. Better output.

Breathwork: Override

  • Breathwork gives people something useful in the moment. Not next week. Not after a training manual. Right there at the desk, before the big meeting, during the wobble, in the middle of a packed day. It helps override the stress response and bring people back online.
  • A breathwork session generally includes easy to learn and deploy techniques that staff can draw on when needed most.
  • Simple to deliver in an office or boardroom setting.

Soundbath: Reset

  • My sound bath sessions help teams come down from constant alert. Gongs and crystal bowls create a full-body reset that quiets mental clutter and restores clear thinking. It is a hard reset, minus the corporate nonsense.
  • These sessions provide staff with that space to just reset ready for peak performance during the rest of the day.
  • Requires an open space where staff can generally lie down – the quieter the better

Meditation/Mindfulness: Tools for Peak Performance

  • Talk to any high performer from any walk of life and you will find one recurring technique that keeps them at the top of their game – being able to be in the zone, in the moment, when it matters.
  • Meditation and Mindfulness skills training can support staff to easily learn these essential tools that not only help them whilst at work but significantly improve their out of office time too.
  • Simple to deliver in an office or boardroom setting.

Forest Bathing: Resilience

  • Forest Bathing+ takes people out of the office and back into perspective. Slow attention, fresh air, sensory grounding. It builds resilience in a way a conference room never will.
  • The science behind the mental AND physical benefits of this practice is incredibly broad and all points to it being crucial, especially for “office” based staff who rarely get to connect with nature.
  • Requires more time (typically at least an hour in the woods and preferably more) but having run these for other companies I can work with you on the logistics of how to make this happen.

The Commercial Imperative

Performance Through Presence works because the nervous system matters. When people are less dysregulated, they think better, communicate better, and recover faster.

A systematic review by Bartlett et al. (2019) found workplace mindfulness interventions reduced psychological distress and emotional exhaustion. Research by Wolever et al. (2012) found mindfulness-based stress management improved resilience and reduced sleep difficulties. This Deloitte UK analysis makes the commercial case plain enough.
